2025-2026 School Year
What – 1 Samuel: the people of Israel got worse throughout the time of the Judges since “everyone did as they saw fit” (Judges 21:25). But God intervenes: there is a new prophet on the scene, and the people want a king. Is God pleased? What should the king be like and what kind of king do the people get? 1 Samuel chronicles the work of the last judge, Samuel, the first king, Saul, and the beginnings of the story of David, who foreshadows Jesus’ kingship.
