Begins Thursday June 1 at 7:30 pm
Summer GCF 2023.
(Btw, this will be David’s final summer working with InterVarsity. He will retire June 30, 2024.)
What: Learn to better understand how to read and understand the Bible while having fun doing it together. We’ll take one main passage each week and dive into it. We’ll enjoy having fun in the Scriptures in community with other graduate and professional students. Think of this as a refreshing break from the normal life of a graduate student.
Format: We’ll gather as a larger or whole group for a time of orientation. Then we’ll move into table small groups to study the passage for the evening. We’ll then gather as a whole group for further discussion, concluding our time in response to God’s word. No doubt there will be some snacks to add to the fun.
When: Thursdays 7:30 to 9 pm June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; July 6, 13 (not 20), and 27 (for 8 weeks in total). Come as you can throughout the summer, and bring friends.
Where: The fellowship hall of Twin City Bible Church (corner of Lincoln and Michigan Avenues, Urbana, IL) Parking available on Michigan Ave, the church parking lot, or in the lot behind McKinley Health Center on Lincoln.
Who: All of you who are in GCF, your friends and colleagues you should invite to come too, and those new to graduate school this summer! David Suryk, InterVarsity’s U of Illinois GCF campus minister, will lead our times in the Scriptures this Summer.
Contact David to indicate your interest and so we can have sufficient materials on hand.
